Grateful Dreads had it’s first annual Dreads Parade! We had a really good time! It actually turned into more of a hang-out session than a parade which was nice. Clients got to meet each other, and we all talked about hair and dreads and got to know each other. Farmers’ Market was in full swing across the street, so we walked around the market too. We’ve decided to have a pre Hash Bash gathering and parade to the Hash Bash as a group next May in addition to the dreads parade every October. Fun!
Ann Arbor is filled with students, and the salon has been so fun and busy! I’ve been meeting a lot of new people and enjoying the changing of the seasons. There is a wonderful apple tree down the street and wildflowers are blooming all over to signal the end of Summer.
Here are some pictures of the amazing people who’ve visited Grateful Dreads lately.
Madelaine comes to Grateful Dreads for haircuts and when she needs a style. I always enjoy our appointments! Congrats on starting your senior year in high school!!!!!
Photos by Mike Frieseman of his beautiful daughter, Madelaine.
These are the finished photos by Mike Frieseman. Mike, Maeve, and I got together for a quick shoot before she left town. I styled her hair, and Maeve did her own make up.
The resulting photos are exquisite!
Thank you so much Maeve and Mike for making these beautiful photos happen!

These amazing sisters traveled with their mom in search of cool haircuts! We had fun while I changed their looks to start the school year proper!
She said she’d never had a haircut that looked anything different from anything else, no matter what they did!! It also usually ended up looking like a triangle. We looked at pictures and talked about her lifestyle and chose a super stylish cut just for her!
The top of her hair is actually very long and tousely. I liked it pushed back to add height and accentuate her face.
Thank you so much for coming into Grateful Dreads! I had a lot of fun working with your hair and look forward to seeing you again!!
